These are new times. As Richard Susskind predicted, the legal profession will change more in the next 10 years than in the last century. The legal sector is living a transformation that is changing the paradigm and is gradually shifting players across the board, especially those most reluctant to change. LegalTech is the new reality and the future one as well.
The different changes that the sector is experiencing affect very diverse fields: on one hand the internal changes: those that affect the delivery. Starting from the premise that the whole legal services can be divided into phases, and each and every one of these phases is susceptible to optimization, the search for internal efficiency for margin increase has been the main focus.
But changes are also `external´, meaning by this what the client demands and whose development responds to multiple criteria. The technological development requires specific advice (blockchain, big data, IA, IoT etc.) and the cultural development is reflected in the increasing needs of companies that demand an alignment in the values of their legal service providers. Consequently, pushing firms to find solutions in fields like equity, diversity and talent to name a few.
Not all innovation has a technological base. For example, some British law firms, in order to obtain loyalty from their large accounts, or as an excuse to enter into large companies, advise on the optimization of legal advice, expenditure on legal service or integrate consultancy firms for internal use to offer, as an added value, the services of the consultancy firm to their clients.
To support our clients in their digital and cultural transformation through the continuous improvement of their internal management processes, the cultural alignment of teams and where appropriate, the implementation of the most adequate technology, we work on the strategic vision through interviews and group sessions in which Design Thinking is applied. Once the strategic vision is aligned, it’s time to revise and adapt the processes and internal policies, valuing the necessity and suitability of implementing LegalTech solutions.
We also analyze the viability of projects of LegalTech and develop strategies for the launch of new business models to the market or LegalTech solutions or actions that also involve our areas of marketing, communication and business development.
