The World Law Congress will take place in Barranquilla (Colombia)
The countdown has begun for the World Law Congress, an international event to be held in Barranquilla (Colombia) on December 2 and 3, 2021.
This World Law Congress, organized by the World Jurist Association and held for the first time in this Latin American country, will bring together more than 200 high-level speakers to discuss the Rule of Law and how it affects the development of Nations in more than 52 panel discussions on different topics in only two days.
Our consulting firm, Gericó Associates, will participate as co-organizer of the event and our partners from Spain, Colombia, Chile and Peru will attend along with the more than 1500 people who will gather, including judges, lawyers, magistrates, professors, prosecutors, academics, notaries and students from 140 different countries.
The 27th edition of the Biennial Congress of the World Jurist Association (WJA) coincides with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the promulgation of the Constitution of Colombia, so democracy and peace will be the main themes of the event, which will be attended by famous leaders such as the King of Spain, Felipe VI, Angela Merkel, German Chancellor, and Ivan Duque, President of Colombia.

The event will be opened by Javier Cremades, president of the World Jurist Association; Pablo Casado, president of the Partido Popular in Spain; Wilson Ruiz Orejuela, president of the Organizing Committee; Viviane Reding, vice-president of the WLF and the European Commission; José Igrega Matos, president of the International Union of Magistrates; and Maria Juliana Ruiz Sandoval, first lady of the Republic of Colombia.
On the Spanish side, illustrious lawyers will also be present, such as Mª Eugenia Gay (WJA Spain, WLF and Barcelona Bar Association), Adrián Vázquez Lázara (European Parliament), Mariano Jabonero (OEI), Manuel Aragón Reyes (Constitutional Court: T. C.), Jesús Remón (Uría Menéndez), José María Alonso (Madrid Bar Association), Baltasar Garzón (WLF), Encarnación Roca (T. C.) and Manuel Aragón Reyes (T.C.), among many others.
